Aims and Objectives

• You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the following subjects after completing our module-based study approach:

• gained an understanding of the structure of the phonological system of English;

• learned to objectively analyze grammatical phenomena in English and other languages.

• gained an understanding of the syntactic structure and semantic interpretation of major constructions in English and the foundations of syntactic and semantic analysis;

• gained an understanding of the way that words are structured in English and the relations between morphology, phonology, syntax, and semantics;

Common European Framework of Reference

At ROOTS, we have adopted the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) which is the standard used around the world to benchmark language ability.

The CEFR has six levels starting at A1 through to C2. It covers all four of the primary language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening, and describes what language learners can do at each stage of the learning process.

Students' progress and CEFR levels can be tracked in a reliable and objective manner using our module-based assessments.
